not only do i find the strips in my meter case, purse, backpack, wallet and sports bag but also all over my house. I've actually found some in the bathroom.... not sure how that happened! lols
Yes! Me too! I'm a nurse, and I always tell my coworkers that you can tell if the blood sugar logs are true if they have blood on them. :-)
You can find them laying all over my house. It drives me nuts sometimes. Night stands, floor, kitchen table.

I add up HANDFULLS!! Lol My husband just laughs at me when I open it and they fly out! Then he gives me wierd looks!
Im glad to see that i am not the only one who does this. I find them EVERYWHERE! Purse, Car, Bedroom floor, you name it. I dont think i have let 50 test strips accumulate at one time though..lol..but i give you props.
Haha I'm cracking up reading all of this. We should make a challenge where everyone should post a pic of their strip collections!
One of the most cringe-worthy things for me is going somewhere public that you're at all the time (like work or class) and seeing a test strip on the floor even though you know you haven't tested there that day. I'll randomly notice one on the ground in the break room at work and hope that someone else there has been hiding their freestyle meter or pray that no one saw it and knew what it was to know who it belonged to.
How the hell do those things get there?!
that looks an awful lot like my meter case except with fewer strips, gulity as charged! lol
I have NO clue how they "sneak" out but it gets embarrassing sometimes! Especially if you are at a resturaunt and you open it and they fall ALL over the place! I turn bright red and pick them up as quick as I can so I dont look like a total dirt bag!
Definitely, although yours is so clean. Mine is a bloody mess... to the point where my friends and family complain about it.
That's the meter in my car that hardly gets used so it's cleaner than most, but my meter stuff never really gets dirty in the first place. It creeps me out if there's dry blood on it so I'll clean it off. Used strips is pretty much as dirty as it gets with my cases.
I dare you guys to post a pic of yours to show what you're working with. You know you wanna show off your used strip collection.
HAHAHA. You win. I do the same thing, though...I just don't understand how you don't lose a ton every time you try to zip/unzip the case, lol.
OMG this is too funny! I think it's a common thing in diabetics! Now hearing everyone else does it! My husband says its gross but I can't help it! I have even found them on my bathroom floor and sink... IDK how they got in the sink but Im thinking my 4 year old was to blame! :) Ok so here is antother question.... this one is a little more gross!!! Does anyone else lick their finger after testing??? I saw a dear friend of mine R.I.P Jennifer Runkle :( , do this when I was first diagnosed and it has stuck with me ever since. It creeps everyone out but I cant help it! I prick test and lick! Anyone else do this or am I alone with my grossness?

The fact that other people do it makes it that much funnier to me! My mother is always getting on my case about how unsanitary it is, but sometimes the pocket in my case is more convenient than a trashcan. Although a trashcan will be right next to me and I still won't throw it away out of habit. One time I forgot to clean it out before I went to see my endo so I shoved about 30 strips into my pocket right before going into the office. Lol.

ah, lol. it's good to know i'm not the only one:) my meter case is really small and sleek, but it has a little mesh pouch on the outside/back of it- i just cram all the used strips in there until they wont go in any more, then i have to find a bin to dispose of them in.
and vanessa- you're not the only one- i lick my finger too... it's much more convenient than trying to find tissue or something to wipe it off with all the time! I try not to make it too gross though- it's more like the way you would suck your finger if you got a small cut or something
I'm Guilty! my case is a little different, but right under the meter you can see where I wipe left over blood. Gross I know i have to take cleaning wipes and clean it out whenever i remember. Usually I don't clean it out unless they are caught in the zipper, or they fall out some how ;)....it's good to know that there are plenty of us out there that do this.
