Sometimes I get tired of eating the same low-carb snacks like cheese sticks, jello, etc. and I can't really think of any other both good and pretty much "free" snacks...
What do yall usually eat for quick and low-carb snacking?

veggies are always good...carrots broccoli that sort of thing...i used to eat cool whip because it was almost free and helped my sweet tooth :)
I love eating veggies for a quick snack! I also have cold cuts or pepperoni or nuts (cashews are my fave). as weird as it may seem, I also love peanut butter..sometimes I'll eat spoonfulls at a time
Oddly enough I agree with everyone so far snack wise. I love Veggies as a low or free snack. They are so good and healthy too. If you have them Hard Boiled eggs are a good free snack too.
The other snack I like are the Mott's No Sugar Added Applesauce Packs(not sugar free, which means it is natural). Each one is 50 calories and between 12 and 13 carbs depending on the flavor you go with.
My favorite low-carb snack is def Edamamae (soy beans). You can buy them frozen in the shell and steam them in the microwave. Almonds are great too because they fill you up. I try to stick with the ones that aren't salted because they can be really high in sodium. Dannon makes a yogurt called "Light and Fit" which is pretty low in carbs. Not sure if you are familiar with Extendabar Snacks. A doctor out in Cali came up with these snacks that are supposed to stabilize your blood sugar for up to 9 hours. I've only tried the bars - the Peanut Butter Chocolate and Penut Delight are my favs.
Never ran into the ExtendaBar snacks, but they look interesting. I am a sucker for peanut butter. Do they sell in stores or are they only up for grabs online?
Yeah veggies are definitely one of my go-to's for snacking but i haven't tried some of the yogurt or apple sauces...thanks i'll have to look for next time :)
I hadn't really heard of them either until my Endocrinologist gave me some samples. Unfortunately, you can't buy them in the store yet. Check them out at http://www.extendbar.com/ They're great to eat before working out to prevent lows.
Celery sticks with peanut butter or Cheez Whiz is probably my favourite.
You know reading responses to these posts before I get a chance to eat lunch is probably not a good thing. I think it falls under the same idea of not going food shopping while hungry. Another low carb snack that I do enjoy the random marshmallow. One is roughly about 6 grams of carbs. just don't forget that if you eat them you do have to think about it in the end.
I've bought some of the ExtendBars at Walgreens. If I remember correctly they are a bit more expensive than your average granola bar, but I have them as a bedtime snack to stabilize my blood sugar during the night.
Trailmix! I have really got hooked on this stuff. There are so many different varieties, so you don't get bored, and it contains different nuts, dried fruits, and chocolate! One serving is relatively low in carbs, it's pretty healthy, and is a good and quick snack for when you're on the go! Plus it's filling!
thanks for the responses! it's really helped!
most of these sound great and i'll have to try them :)
OMG if you eat the whip cream from Costco it is CARB FREE!!!!!! I lovee itt!!!!!!!
I'm a dill pickle lover. Friends even give them to me for birthday presents. They're my all-time favorite food. And they're definitely good on the bloodsugars. :)
I LKE TO LETTUCE SALT AND LEMON ......FRUIT AND OTHER VEGGIES ..THAT HELPS CONTROL MY SUGARS
Meat is always good. I mean if you are at home and you just want a quick taste I sometimes eat a slice of lunch meat or maybe leftover chicken/fish/beef from dinner. It's tasty and it makes me feel like I am not eating junk food. I would not advise eating meat while on the go.
hard salami! from the deli, in grocery store. not too expensive, and addictive, but carb free! and beef jerky
For me it's a teaspoon of peanut butter or a few almonds or a piece of cheese or for a treat one of the popcorn cakes (not sure what they are called - but they are only 12g of carb), or for a real treat - a small orange. If I am trying to be good tho' I have a fruit herbal tea with abit of honey in it.
I stuggle a little bit with eating weird processed food (fat-free chocolate pudding with fat-free cool whip). It can't be all that good for you to eat straight up chemicals. However, sometimes after lunch or dinner (or in the afternoon or evening...)I really crave a treat. I have made good blood sugars a priority and put up with fake food!
For a low-carb snack I really love popcorn. You can have 3 cups of popcorn for 15g CHO and you know the ingredients are healthy!
