Dry feet

Hello! T1d here for 11 years. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep my feet moisturized? I use aveeno diabetics dry skin relief lotion. It helps with my hands and arms but not my feet. I also use baby oil on my feet. I have one of those foot shavers to get the dry skin off too. But the next day they will be flakey again. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.

I love good oils but I find they absorb info the skin. In addition to lotion on my feet I use plain old vaseline and pull on a pair of socks.
I sometimes treat my feet to a nice sugar scrub. There are salt scrubs too but I find sugar is coarser. I use a foot shaver as well (AmoPedi I think is the name). I think it’s not recommended for us so use with care.

I’ve had some success with Pacifica’s lotions. I apply them after showers.

My go to is vasoline with socks. Also have noticed anything with Shea butter helps for me.

Thanks for suggesting shea butter. My husband uses it and swears by it. I’ve learned it helps when rubbed on aches and pains, coughing (rubbed on the chest and back, and added to tea), and even sneezing (rubbed on my nose and face). My friend’s motto for my husband is "Just put some shea butter on it"! I’m certainly not saying it’s a cure for anything - if you’re having lingering issues by all means get them checked out - but it does give relief.
Personally I’m not crazy about the feel - we use raw shea butter (not lotion) and it’s very heavy - everyone has their own preferences and I like lighter, but it’s very effective so thanks for mentioning it @Tee25 .
If you haven’t seen a podiatrist make an appointment. Sometimes rough skin needs professional treatment to start, and then home care will be much easier. Hopefully you’ll be ready for summer sandals soon.
