Diabetes camp

i was just diagnosed lasy year and b4 that i used to go to a camp but they dont acomidate for diabetics so i spent the summer at home with my sisters wich dont get me wrong i <3 my sisters but it wuz sooooo boring. once or twice my mom has mentioned that there are specail camps for diabetics but until i found this site i wuz totaly against even thinking about camp sooo if any1 knows of any good camps in NY im considering going this summer or if any1 just wants 2 talk about diabetes camp thats cool 2 lol<3

I'll just make this short and sweet. Diabetes camps rule!! sure they want you to learn a few things while you are there- but most of it is about just having the best time of your life.

I was completely against going to a diabetes camp when I was younger- I wouldn't even discuss the possibility. Now, looking back, I really wish I had gone. It sounds like fun and I think the support of people who really know about diabetes is essential. Give it a shot!

When I was younger I went to a camp for diabetics in Oregon called Gales Creek Camp. I loved every single minute of it! I wish I could still go to camp. =]

It's always a little nerve racking trying new things but trust me, you will have the time of your life and meet so many great people!

I went to GCC too!  I went for four years, but wasn't able to go this summer. I've thought about going back to work there. I still have friends from camp, though.

It's a blast, Gillian! You should definitely try one out.

I went to their winter camp and had a blast :) I bet their summer one is even better though. Plus it's not TOO far from NY

I clear on the other side of the nation in Oregon/Washington.  I went to Gales Creek Camp every year i could.  I am still looking at them for possible work.  Some of my best friends are from that camp.  I highly recommend going.  It was the best experience for me
