Why do i overheat so easily?

Is there a possible connection with diabetes? If it’s 75+, my body gets extremely hot and I sweat so much it soaks through all my clothes. I get physically exhausted. I moved from MA to DC a couple years ago, and the summers have been miserable. I think it was Mayo Clinic or WebMD that said the two could be connected, but I’m trying to arm myself with as much information as possible before going to see the doctor (even primary care). This sort of thing happened to me in MA, too, but it was never this bad. The heat wave last summer nearly destroyed me. Thanks for any responses.

I used to overheat ALL the time. I could be sitting in an air conditioned house and STILL sweat like I was standing directly in the sun. I had a few heat strokes last summer and the summer before. I’m not sure if mine was from my Grave’s Disease or the Diabetes. But I completely get how you feel and I’m sorry you have to go through it!

The only diabetes related issue I know of that causes sweating is hypoglycemia. As long as your blood sugar is okay, that’s not it.

Thyroid issues are a common cause (hyperthyroidism). It’s another autoimmune disease so we’re more prone to have it. Might want to have blood work done to rule it out.

Testosterone levels, medication and obscure health problems can also cause it. Some people are just less heat tolerant than others and you have to learn to work around it.
