Diagnosed September 2002...two weeks before my 16th birthday
I was diagnosed August 6, 2008. And my birthday is August 30. So I was diagnosed 24 days before my 16TH birthday...
April 17, 2004......less than a month after my 23rd birthday...and I was in between insurances. I was off my parent's insurance at the age of 23, but had a teaching job that started in August that provided insurance. Of course, I thought as a 23 year old woman, that I was in the prime health stage of my life and NOTHING would happen to me in the 5 months that I didn't have insurance. Boy, was I wrong!
I was diagnosed on September 21, 1996. I was 5 years old and on vacation at the beach. It's been 12 years.
i was diagnosed June, 16, 2004. i was ten and a half and in the upper 400s.
I was diagnosed back in the stone age... Feb. 5th 1973 at age 12
I was diagnosed when I was 14 in May of 2001.

I was diagnosed February 2, 1996. I was just about three then, and was in the hospital until Valentine's Day. My glucose was somewhere around 435-440 range.
I was diagnosed on June 28, 2000. I was nine years old, i was in the hospital for a week, i was so scared, my glucose was only 250.
August 1995, in a routine sports physical. No DKA or anything. Came as a huge shock.
October 13, 2008. Went to the ER for stomach pain, left with Diabetes.
I was officially diagnosed Feb 2005 when I was 20 years old. I had what one of my doctor's called "the honeymoon" stage for about a year before I was put on insulin, until that fateful day when my sugar skyrocketed to over 450 and thus it began. sigh lol
Nine years old...November 1994. Right before Thanksgiving. Sick as a dog laying on the couch whining that I couldn't go to my friend's ice skating party. Next thing I know I'm being taken to the emergency room in an ambulance. They weighed me at 32 lbs...blood sugar 1200. It was such a party.
...I'm excited for this new social network. I know it will be very beneficial to all participants! I just wish they had something like this 10 years ago! Keep up the good work.

I'm amazed at how many people here were recently diagnosed! Good for you guys, because lord knows I wasn't that gung-ho about my diabetes in the first year of my diagnosis. I'm glad that you guys are reaching out to a community like this so early on.
I was diagnosed on July 2nd, 1992. As I am about to turn 19 (tomorrow!!) that means I've had diabetes since I was 2, for over 16 years. it kind of sucks because now i'm developing all of these complications even though i take really good care of myself.. my endo says it can happen after about 15 years of having diabetes even if you eat well and exercise and everything. anybody else going through something like this?
by the way- i'm really excited about this website!
I was diagnosed on November 20th, 2000. Yesterday it was 8 years. I was 8 yrs old at the time. I was going to be airlifted to the childrens hospital, but it was snowing so they ambulanced me down there. I set the record for highest BG in Wisconsin at the time.
March 1st, 1994, at the age of 18. Three days prior my mothers birthday. The week prior to that I had been snowboarding with friends for a week. After every ride, I had to stop and use the restroom and than drink more fluids. Sure was fun.
