Oh my gosh! I was diagnosed in February too with 17.1!
Mine was 5.7 beginning of June! and I was just diagnosed in February.
5.4 in February and the one before was 5.8 I think. Even with CGMS I tend to spend too much time in the low range. Need to check my pump more often. :( Drives my CDE crazy. She wants me in the 6 range. I've had a 6.1 and 6.2 in the last year or two.
Really?? My endo was really happy with the 5s. They like that because it "normal"

My CDE gets upset because I have a lot of lows and I'm hypo unaware so I often stay in the low range for too long. If she saw a lot less lows in my reports she wouldn't hound me about my A1c. Before I got my pump I actually had a couple of 4.9s. I would spend entire days in the hypo range, totally unaware until I tested my BG every few hours.
Mine was 7.1 in Feb, but I'm getting it done soon, and the one before that, in Dec. was 8.4, so 7 is a big improvement, and hopefully it'llbe even better this time.
5.9 :-)
When my A1C was checked last, the nurse who did the test seemed really concerned about it being that low. My endo told me it was fine though and I should keep doing whatever I was doing.
I was having a lot of lows, and still do even though I keep decreasing my inuslin dosage. I probably fall into the 60s at least once per day, and I've only had my glucose test higher than 134 a couple of times in the past 8 months.
My last A1C check was 9. I have to get to 7 before im allowed to drive, but I can drive perfectly 24/7. My doctor is an idiot and doesnt understand.

[/quote]How does having high blood sugar affect your ability to drive? Is his rationale that your vision is poor or what? Are you having severe lows along with the high blood sugar? Yeah, an A1C of 9 is high, but it shouldn't affect your ability to drive.
Really Mr. Weinger - you have to get to an A1C of 7 before you are allowed to drive? Wow! That is abit bizarre. I thought they'd be more worried if you had an A1C of maybe 4.5% as that might mean you have alot of low blood sugars (or are testing your blood every 15 minutes and correcting your BG's).
Anyway, my last A1C was - having brain fart here - it was 5.8% I think. I have less hypos now since being on the pump - used to have more when I was multiple injecting - but I would have figured it out over time if I'd really worked harder.
my A1C, as of yesterday, was 7.3. thats is the lowest it has ever been. i am so happy =) words cannot express it!!!!!
first was 7.5 (june), then 7.6 (september), now 8.1
:(
5.8 in October (nurse said i was having too many lows though)... but i'll probably get another one done on monday since I'm switching doctors and i'm just going to ask for one so I don't need to come back again in January. So we'll see!
my last a1c was in the summer (i am bad i only get it done like every 6-9 months) it was 5.8 but i too have a decent amount of lows
my last a1c was 7.4(yesterday) down from 9.8(3months ago)..but that was due to having too many lows while on the pump(i not only had a low while in my endo's office but a few hours later as well yesterday) so i've switched back to MDI.
7.2, down from 7.8 previously, so that is good, but I am working for 6.0. My first one ever I think was 7.9... Then after I was diagnosed it was 4.8 without lows...I just had a great honeymoon where I could take 4u of Lantus a day and have all of my bgs between 75 and 90. I look at my logbooks from that time and long for those days! Oh, I was very serious about the Bernstein Diet then too which really helped. Perhaps I will recommit myself to that for my New Years resolution... Though I hate resolutions!!! If anyone else is interested in doing Bernstein, maybe we could make a group out of it and check in with each other and help each other out etc.

I'm not a diet person, I'd rather eat healthy and eat junk when I feel like it..but what's the Bernstein Diet?
6.1 three months ago. I need to go get it tested again soon!
6.2 in june before that was 8.3
