Hahaha..then you better get it soon..yea ive been considering a tattoo but it wouldnt be around my wrist

mines just on the inside of my wrist

yikes! i'm all about tattoos i've got three, and one of them is a cover-up so technically four...but getting a tattoo at 15, even a medical one is..wow. what are you gonna do if it stretches out? i mean..there's a reason a professional, clean, quality tattoo shop won't tattoo you anyone under 18..because you're still growing and god knows what it'll look like a few years down the road..

too be fair though..i am against the whole "medical tattoo instead of a bracelet" though. i find the whole thing kinda silly. fine get a tattoo for your diabetes, all for that..but as a replacement for something that's proven to be looked for by a medic? just cuz one medic has said they will look for a tattoo as well..doesn't mean they all will. until it's part of their training and it's world-wide..it's just dangerous IMO.

they actually check for tattoos now thats why my parents got me on because im always losing bracelets and everything. and im done growing so im not worried about it

Hi Jessica,

Yes I have a tattoo, inside right arm. Check my avatar also pictures on my page. Enjoy!

You're done growing at 15?!?!?!  Wow, I wish someone had told me that when I was 15.  I didn't stop growing until I was about 20ish.  Good luck with that!

Jessica,

I am sure you will be fine. Just stay fit, obviously. I am 30 now and I stopped growing in the 7th grade... In fact I only weigh 5 lbs more than I did in high school, but I weight train now, so I'm sure that some of it is muscle.  Anyway, I recently volunteered at an event where there were many paramedics volunteering as well and I asked them all what they thought about the tattoo idea.  I got different responses.  Most of them said that if someone is unconscious, the first thing they will do is check their blood sugar, they don't even look for a medical bracelet.  Another one of the guys said that they thought that the tattoo was a great idea.

I am tempted to get a tattoo just to see if they would find a cure... that would be ok with me!

I've actually been considering getting a tattoo but I can't figure out how I want it to look. What does yours look like?

Hm. 4 years and I didn't know getting a tattoo would prompt a cure :) (I'm totally kidding here. But maybe if we all get tattoos.....)

theres a picture in my profile

Hi Kate, unfortunatley "my luck" is non transferable, alot of ppls have their own version of "my luck" I like to call it 'their luck'. The problem with my luck is that as soon as you try to game the system and and expect a certain outcome from my luck it will instantly change.  So when I get my Tat expecting a cure since that would normally be my luck, my luck would then be to not come up with a cure the following day. Only because I expected it. Deflated expectations are the playground of my luck.

I off to replace the brakes on my van, lets hope my luck is still in bed. ;)

But it always works at a restaurant when I want my food to hurry up and come, I just go to the bathroom and when I come back my food has appeared!  You mean to tell me that it won't work that way??? HaHa LOL! Actually I am a huge cynic and I am pretty positive that they won't find a cure in my life time or that they already have one and there is no way we would ever be allowed to know about it because there are way too many people/drug companies that are making tons of money off of the business of Diabetes.  Imagine never buying test strips again???  Impossible.

well if i get a tattoo, id prob get the temporary ones. they sell them and i think tht would be a better option in my opinion. although im only 13, tht could be y i feel the way i do. i wanna get a real tattoo of the diabetes medic alert symbol when im older, if they havent found a cure by then.
