Read Me

Hi, My name is Kaitlin and I’ve had diabetes for 15 years. I’m 17 now so I’ve never known another life…I love to meet and make friends with other diabetics and lately I’ve noticed how other diabetics despise having diabetes and generally feel very negative. Maybe it’s just how long I have had it or the lack in “the day my life changed” but I feel it’s important for all of us to feel a certain degree of luckiness. Sure, diabetes can really suck, but at the same time we are fortunate to have the tools and knowledge to live everyday. Lucky for me is knowing that I was born into a century with insulin and these last 15 years have been a gift because I am alive. Try not to view the day you were diagnosed as the awful day your life got hard, instead feel lucky for the chance to continue being alive.

Hi my name is Ashlie and I feel the same way. but I have had diabetes for almost three weeks now.

Hi, I’m Emily. Thanks so much for posting this! It helped me see this more positively! I’ve only had this for four months so it was definitely a huge, completely unexpected change, but I still try to stay as positive as possible. Ya never know when they might find a cure…

yep and when I read your first post I was so relived that some one felt the same way that I did. thank you and your welcome. you can let me know anytime that you need to talk or anything, k? and man do I wish they had a cure, I would be the first one there like the shoppers on black Friday. I would literally sleep in their doorway.

I think the longer one has it, the harder it is to stay positive and i’m glad you guys read this. Stay positive and a cure will come eventually:)

you too.
