I know there have been similar posts, but after this evening, I have to add mine! Nothing huge, just those little moments that you wish you could live without.
My pet peeve about daily life w/ D today was parking spaces. I hate when you're parked on a busy street or in a full garage, and as you get into the car, someone signals for your spot and waits, blocking traffic. Most days, before driving, I need to test, correct a high, wait for a low to come up, something... I usually need about 2 minutes before I'm ready. But how can you wordlessly gesture to someone on a downtown street you're having a D moment. So, I'm the b*tch who doesn't give up her spot despite loud honking, angry glares, and rude gestures, lol. I want to create a sign that says "I can't drive for 5 minutes until my blood sugar comes up, drive around the block". I usually just give apologetic looks and ignore the "gestures". (:
I'd probably just wave them aside, and make sure my car isn't actually on. people are more inclinded to think you're waiting for someone still and probably won't give you those angry looks?
Don't worry about ignorant people like that! My pet peeve is when we go out for dinner or I make dinner and everyone has their food and is almost done eating by the time I get to start after having to test, figure carbs, and inject! Life just seems to get a bit crazy fast lately! Another one is people who ask me every 5 minutes if I am ok....or should I check myself....or do I need to take more insulin....especially non diabetics....like after eating a sweet or having a drink. I know they probably just care about me, but I think I have a good handle on things after 25 years! :D
Angela, I hate when everyone eats without me too!! Luckily, I have my husband well trained -- he sits there nervously waiting to eat until I give him the go ahead. (; The rest of his family -- forget it! They're done eating and I'm starting!

I should bring a book as a prop, lol. "As soon as I'm done w/ War and Peace, I'll be pulling out of this spot!" (stupid DC drivers)

Haha! Love it!
So far, I can't come up with a D-related pet peeve. I'll have to think about this a little harder.
