My name is Stephanie. I'm a 29 year old type 1 diabetic that just celebrated my 25th anniversary. I have an almost 3 year old daughter and am preggo with #2. I am kind of excited to start meeting other people with diabetes. It was high school before I ever met someone else with the disease and she wasn't about to talk about it. It will be nice to have support of those who KNOW.
Hello and welcome Stephanie. I agree it is nice to meet others that know what you are going through. I have gotten a lot of help and support through this site and the wonderful members who are here.
Hello Steph, welcome aboard! I hope you have good control during your pregnancy. Good luck with that.
I have been type 1 for 65 years and am doing very well. You could apply to the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston for a 25 year certificate, if you want. They give medals to type 1's who have completed 50 and 75 years. I have the 50 year medal and in 10 more years I hope to get the 75 year medal.
If anyone is interested in the procedure for applying for the certificate, or the medals, please let me know. I can post the links and other things that you need to know.

hey, richard! that's a great idea! would you be interested in starting a thread specifically for that? i didn't even know there were medals and certificates until i joined juvenation. i'm sure others would be interested in applying for them too! in 4 years i'll be ready for 25 year certificate :D
My goodness. I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but you are the first person I've met that's had this longer than me! It's neat to see sometimes, ya know? That would be pretty cool to get a certificate. Please post the link, that would be cool!
