New to Juvenation

Hi All,

I was recently diagnosed in May 2010. I found out about Juvenation a couple of weeks ago and it seems like a good place to ask questions, joke, and vent. I feel like I am handling everything fairly well, but it is nice to know I can talk to others faced with the same issues.

Hi Carlyin, Let me just say welcome to Juvenation, This is the best place that u could come and ask questions, joke and vent.

Welcome!  I found this forum earlier this month myself and really love it.  There are both new and long-time type 1 diabetics here along with a variety of ages.

Hi Carlyin,

Welcome to Juvenation. This is a good place to talk.

I love seeing all these "new to juvenation" posts! Juvenation is a great society of people with things in common! We are all here to support you. I'm so glad you decided to join!

Hi Carlyin...Welcome to the best place for help and support!  If you have a question about diabetes or anything else, I am sure you will find your answer here!  This is the best place!!  I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome!

Welcome im new too :)

Hi Carly!  Welcome to Juvenation.  We're all here to help whenever you need it.  Glad to have you here.

Hello Carylin, I am kinda like a grandpa here. I am 70 years old and have been type 1 for 64 years. If I can fit in here, I am sure you will have no trouble at all. Lol! It is a great diabetes site!

Richard

Welcome to Juvenation Carly and Mandy !!!

Welcome! This place has been a mental life saver to me over the past 7.5 months!

Carly, welcome!  I was diagnosed in May also, at the age of 30.  (Was one of your first thoughts, "but Type 1 is JUVENILE diabetes!" too?).  This place has been really great for finding answers and people who get what I'm going through.  I've especially appreciated the "real life" aspect of the forum.  Doctors and CDEs will often give you "very good advice" that just doesn't apply to your own real life, and people here have often been able to give their own experiences to help fill in the gaps.  Like, it's very good advice for a diabetic to have no more than one alcoholic drink (two, for men) with a meal, but I know darn well that I will have two or three on special occasions (like my birthday, in August).  I loved being able to pop on here, ask how people handle it, and find out what has and hasn't worked for other people.  It was even better than talking to the one local Type 1 diabetic friend I have, because not everyone's bodies react the same way to stuff, and now I have a lot of information to draw on.

You'll dig this place.  Everyone is so helpful.

I got diagnosed last year May and Im in the same boat as you. I just found out about this site and figured it would be good to be able to talk to people who are going through the same thing. So far ive been doing good, my HBA1C has ne ver been over 5.2% so i think im on a good track, how about you?

welcome, dale! we're glad to have all the newbies :o)
