How Many People With Diabetes Do You Know Off-Line?

4 that i went to school with (elementary/high school/college - one was a professor), another 3 that i work with, and 1 that i used to care for in a before and after program. so,8 just off the top of my head. if i sat and thought about it, i would probably come up with more.

Several hundred. Then again, I've been a diabetes camp direcor for the last three years. Outside of the summer, I probably interact with between ten and fifteen on a regular basis.

I know a hand full. I worked for a researcher with T1 diabetes this summer and through that job, met a whole bunch of other people with T1. If you are Canadian and interested in meeting more people, check out the organization connected in motion (http://www.connectedinmotion.ca/), they have a bunch of great events

Just 1.  There are some others in my school, but they weren't really into talking about T1 with me and stuff.  They're also in 9th and I'm a senior, so maybe I don't fit into their social circle.

A LOT!! If you post a page on CWD (childrenwithdiabetes.com) you get a lot of responses!! lol, thats how I know them all. And how I know Jaimie... but only one I have really met lol.

I only know one person.. she is my second cousin and she lives in connecticut with her family so i barely see her so it feels like ik nobody offline..

Okay, so I know 5 total.

How many of those do I talk to on a regular basis? None.

A couple of them I talk to occasionally, but not much. One of those I go to school with, so we say 'hi' when we pass each other on campus, but it's not much more than that.

I did start to get to be good friends with a T1 this trimester, because we had a class together, but she just moved to another state. )=

The other two I've only talked to like once or twice, just enough to know that they have diabetes. I don't really hang out with the same group of people that any of them do, or they live out of town (or state). )=

oh gosh! i know of several diabetics. 50-ish people id say. 2 go to school with me, and the rest are either family members or camp friends

im from a town in southern iowa called davis city.

One on my mom's side an cuz but i have never meet him he is age 24 and was DX at he age of 4

Okay, so I just went through my list of Facebook friends, inviting them to join some group having to do with T1, and I realized that I actually know a lot more diabetics off-line than I previously said. I didn't take into account all of the people I've met at camp. So, although I probably only talk to about 2 of them, there are about 20 diabetics in my list of Facebook friends that I know from camp, and/or school.

I didn't know any in my own city until I started a Meetup.com group!  Now I know a handful and it is really nice!
