I’m looking for other diabetics who would like to be friends. I’m 21 and still need support from others on this diabetic journey. I have my family… but the thing is, they aren’t diagnosed with it but me and it’s hard to get them to understand fully. I still got lots to learn as well.
Hey! My name is Natalie and I’m 20 years old. I would like to talk and be friends
Hi Rozey Mae @Aries_8o8 . This is your first post, so welcome to this forum.
Family support is really good but unless someone in your group is living with T1D it can be difficult for them to understand with what you must contend every hour of every day. I’ve been married for over a half century to a woman who has always been helpful and supportive but it has been only in the recent years that she has really learned what it is like. I would be happy to chat with you; I have lived with diabetes for over 60 years
A way to find others near you with diabetes and talk one-on-one is by attending diabetes functions / events sponsored by JDRF or ADA. There is a JDRF chapter in your area [ ]Southern California JDRF Diabetes Chapter Support ] through which you may find support. Look also under the “Events” tab at the top of this page.
That would be great. I’ve been diabetic for about 8 years now. I’m honestly having a hard time being consistent with things. When I have my burn outs, it’s hard to get out of them.
Thank you, I’ll definitely look into it.
