Anyone else ever deal with this?

I know this doesnt much have to do with the type 1 diabetes part but just a question.

Wondering if anyone else has ever dealt with extreme nausea from stress ??? I am dealing with it right now and I am so sick to my stomach. I havent been vomitting at all but just feel like it almost all day lately. It has been going on since this past saturday and I am so tired of feeling sick that its not even funny. I dont even want to eat even though I know I have to for the blood sugar aspect of it. I have been sipping on sprite zero and thats not even seeming to help me at all.

If anyone else has dealt with this and has any tips for me or anything that has worked for you please let me know. I am miserable!! :(

I get really bad nausea in the morning, it's been happening every morning since I was diagnosed with diabetes actually, but only if I wake up before 9. I've found that clear sodas don't work for settling your stomach. What I do is sip on a dark soda, and I usually only have about a half can and that will do the job for me. And then I'll wait about 20 minutes and eat something and I'm fine.

Hope this helps.

Sarah,

This exact thing happened to me. I was bullied a lot in middle school, and it made me stress, causing me to always feel nausea. By the time  the situation kind of calmed down, my stomach lining had been destroyed, and it took a few weeks to even sort of recover. i went to many doctors, and they gave me things like antiacids and it helped but basically i had to wait it out..

Its been about 5 years since that and if i stress (about medium stress) i still feel naseau today!! its horrible. i wish i could go back and just not worry about those bullies, but i do believe its because my stomach lining is so fagil still..

One thing that really helped me, was going to rite aide and getting those antiacids that you just chew, or suck on, right when you feel very nasueated.

i'm sorry you have to go through this!!

Clear or dark doesn't work for me, usually i drink gatorade, the electrolytes help make sure i don't get dehydrated!

Hi Sarah,

I deal with that almost every day. You feel like your stomach is in a knot and that if you even put food in your mouth u feel like you are going to get sick. I know what you are feeling like. I have episodes like that at least 4 or 5 times a week. When I start feeling like that, I normally go and I get Diet Ginger Ale. Its helps alot. I normally get Seagram's brand but most store brands are just as good. If you want to look into getting St. John's Wort, that helps too. St. John's Wort is a Herbal all natural stress reliever. I hope this helps!! Keep me posted.

Thanks everyone :) It was at least half way bearable today I mean I still had it going on and was sick to my stomach but it was on and off all throughout the day. I have still been sipping on sprite zero and it seemed to help a little bit today. I was able to eat some not much cause I still feel sick more to my stomach when I eat but I ended up getting some homemade chicken noodle soup from one of the local restraunts today so it wasnt really heavy foods going into my stomach that would make it 10 times worse.  It seems like when I lay down it helps my stomach but we all know that you cant lay down all day and just do nothing......especially when you live on a farm like I do. lol.

I just cant understand why stress is doing this to me all of the sudden when it has never happened before. Yeah I have had the stomach flu but it wasnt like this. My sister told me to stop worrying about everything and quit being so stressed out but I dont even know what is causing the stress right now job maybe not sure. I know I wish it would clear up so I could stop feeling so sick.

I will keep you guys updated as to if it goes away or not. Hoping it does real soon.

whoops....I think I might look into the st johns wort stuff I have a prescription for paxil which is more for anxiety that I get when I have to much caffeine but next time I am in town I might have to look for that stuff and see what its all about. Something just to get rid of whatever stress I have going on and help my stomach out to recover from this stuff :(
