This article is both scary and inspiring. Yeah - there are some inaccurancies (if he was going into diabetic coma - DKA - giving him sugar would not solve the problem (although that's what EMTs do first b/c it is often low sugars that they are called for).
However, I think it's a great lesson for those of us who have kids or plan to have kids in the future. Make sure you keep everyone in the loop and teach your kids what the signs of low or high sugars might be and how to call 9-1-1.
I'm very proud of this family - especially little Paulo. :)
