Today in D History

April 15, 1923 – Insulin becomes generally available for use by people with diabetes.

Yea, for Dr. Banting and all the rest!!!!

i'm reading a book about this right now. ican't think of the name right off of my head, but it's about the discovery of insulin, etc. and about a girl growing up at the time with diabetes and going through the starvation therapy and stuff

i'm glad this day happened.. i don't think any of us could live without this day

(pun intended.. but not a very good one)

Wow, I wish I would have known this before.  April 15 1922 was my dad's birthday and I wished to remember him on that day instead of thinking of the IRS.  This gives me some other thing to be joyous over for April 15th.  Without it, I would have been dead long ago.  Thanks for posting it!

I think the book you are talking about is called Cheating Destiny. It is a really interesting book if you haven't read it!

I wish I had known about this on the 15th too instead of thinking of tax day. (:
