Ok, I'll start... What kinds of problems are you having?

Hi, I’m a Type 1 for 31 years and am dealing with Stage 2 kidney disease according to my new endo, but even with similar lab numbers in the past my prior endo did not voice concern. So I’m a little baffled and frustrated that I’m being told to suddenly follow a low-sodium diet. My hubby and I are very active in various groups and we end up eating on the run more than we’d like…and high sodium is everywhere! But I’m learning.

My A1C history was pretty typical, rather dreadful during the first few years when I was a kid and in college, then gradually learning more and getting myself under 7. My last few A1C’s were low 7’s, which I didn’t like, but my prior endo just pushed me off onto her PA, even after requesting her because I had to travel hours to see her. Frustrating, but at least my new endo seems conscientious. Young, but I think he knows his stuff pretty well, and my recent home A1C test shows me at 6.3. That’s more like it! I’m also feeling some mild neuropathy more this month, I’m guessing because it’s getting colder here in N. AZ.

Anyway, I’m trying to stay positive and I hope my return to good A1C’s might help alleviate or at least arrest the issues I’m experiencing!
