Hi Ann, welcome aboard! There is another diabetes group you might want to join. It was created especially for parents of diabetic children. Here is the link:

I have been type 1 for 64 years and I am very healthy. With good care and guidance, a very young type 1 diabetic can have a long, healthy life. Good luck to you and your grandchild.

Hello Ann, Welcome to the Forums!

Your little grandson is a very strong little boy to have to deal with something like this at that age. I was diagnosed when I was 2 years old, so I kinda know what he's going through. But I guess I understood it a little better cause I was older than he is. Diabetes is a very difficult thing to deal with at times. But no matter what you can't give up and you've got to keep moving on in life.

If you have any questions about diabetes, I'll be more than welcome to try to help. You can either send me a message her or at my email address
Jessimucha88@gmail.com I've had diabetes for 20 years and I'm currently 22 years old :)
