Just curious is anyone else out there was diagnosed with Type I while pregnant?
When I was 26 weeks pregnant I did the routine 1hr GTT and failed. That was follow by the 3hr which I failed as well. So initially they thought it was just gestational diabetes. I ended up seeing endocrine and doing lab work ending in a Type I diagnosis (positive GAD antibodies).
I am now 32 weeks pregnant. I turn 30 in December, expecting my 1st baby in December, trying to wrap my mind around this diagnosis and totally overwhelmed at times.
On the other hand I know I am very lucky that my A1c at diagnosis was only 5.5 and that baby is doing great
