I love it. I have six, i have the breast cancer tat for my mom. This is something I have thought about and I definately am going to get another one.
I actually really like the diabetes ribbon, I think the blood drop says it all! haha
All my friends keep asking me why I got it and it's really hard to explain to someone who doesn't have diabetes. I really feel like diabetes is a part of me and although it's not something that I let hold me back, I definitely feel like it's a part of who I am now. I've only been diabetic for two years but I've come to terms with the fact that I will have this disease until they one day find a cure. I'm not ashamed that I have diabetes and I do not at all hide it. I think that diabetes has made me a better and more caring person and in a strange way it has made my life better, if at all possible.
I remember I used to have that ribbon as a magnetic bumper sticker thing. I have the medical alert symbol and Diabetes on my wrist since I have a lot of jewelry allergies. I love it because unless I'm in some sort of situation that I lose my arm people will always see it. I did a lot or research on places and making sure it was acceptable before I got mine. I currently have 2 tatts only 1 diabetes related.

I love it!! I have a similar one on the small of my back, but I never thought to add my dx date, what a great idea. Maybe I'll take a picture and post it here later. :)
I wanted to get this tattoo also!! Looks great!!!
its the diabets ribbon like the breast cancer ribbon you see all over!
omg they blank out BRE*ST hahahaha
i am thinking about getting a diabetic tattoo so if something happens peoplr might see it and know whats wrong and get me some help... but i do not know wat to get yet i want it to look pretty cool
I have three tattoos. Tribal on both arms and a leprechaun on my left shoulder. When I was filling out the release form the artist was leery on doing the tats since I was diabetic. She told me to use Aquaphor Healing Ointment. It worked great! I use Aquaphor all the time now. I get mat burns from MMA training and this works great on them too!
That looks so awesome :) My 16 year old daughter wants one just like that but you have to be 18 to get a tattoo in our state.
wow it's too lovely.
Did you ever post the picture of your tattoo? I'm really interested in getting one but I want to get ideas for the perfect one for me.
I love it!!!!! My 5 yr old little boy who was diagnosed 15 days before you were is very proud of his diabetes.... he made up his own little song about his "pancreas being broken and just not working right anymore".....
I just got mine on my wrist a couple of weeks ago because I hate wearing the ID bracelets!
My tattoo is being drawn up right now and I am so excited for the finished product! I will post a picture of it when it is all done up. : )
