My blood sugars are still high no matter what i do.
Is it possible to get pregnant with already high blood sugars?
Sure it’s possible, but not recommended! Out of range blood glucose increases the chance of birth defects dramatically. That’s why it’s recommended to get BG into control before conceiving, and then working hard during pregnancy to maintain as close to normal numbers as possible. These days, most pregnant women are using insulin pumps since insulin needs change dramatically throughout the pregnancy.
If you’re considering becoming pregnant, I urge you to consult with your endocrinologist and OB/GYN to make sure you’re in good control before taking the risk.
