Hello and good day to anyone reading this. Does anyone with the Dexcom know how to make the sensor stick if it starts falling off in less than the 10 days? The sensor seems to always fall off when applied on stomach. Any tips to help it stick even though it’s falling off?

I believe Dexcom will replace a sensor that does not last the full 10, although you probably would rather not do that too often. I found a couple of items on Amazon/eBay that work for me: the G6 shield, and the Simpatch. Both come in a few colors - in my photos the shield is blue and the Simpatch is pink. The patch sticks very well but if you do need to remove it, it will pull up the shield and leave the transmitter and sensor in place.
I use alcohol to get rid of any oils before inserting the sensor.

Hi Alexa,
I use Skin Tac on my skin before I apply the sensor and this has helped a great deal. I no longer need to use the over patches others have recommended. The Skin Tac does the trick!
If you decide to try it, you will need to clean a small spot on the skin for the sensor to go into. I use an alcohol swab to do this and I clean off just a small spot in the center of the area I’ve treated with the Skin Tac.
Before doing this, my sensors would peel around the edges and would sometimes pull completely off. I did not like the over patches and then found this product on Amazon. It is hypoallergenic, too, which is a big “plus” for me. - - No, I do not work for either Skin Tac or Amazon!

We have tried several, and the free one’s the Dexcom will send to you work better for my daughter than any of the others we have tried.

Trying to get my teen son to consider this CGM but he says it’s too big… then I see tape is added to help it adhere. How do you feel about the size?
We don’t have the CGM but when he was younger used skim tac for regular pump site and it works really well!!

Hello, I attached an image I hope you were able to see it. The Dexcom comes with a patch that is 3 inches long and a small transmitter that is smaller than that and goes on top of the patch. It’s not very big and it’s very comfortable. The Dexcom is a really great device because it tells the persons blood sugars 24/7 and gives alerts every five minutes. And you don’t have to poke your fingers to know what your blood glucose is. The Dexcom could also alert you when you have a low blood sugar or when you have a high blood sugar so you can have an extra correction dose. Personally I think that this is a great device for diabetic people, and it helps a lot. Most people when they get it they don’t want to take it off because of how useful it is. I definitely think your son should get it. It’s not very big so it’s not going to stand out a lot which makes it really great. The good thing about this is that when your son goes to college, you could even see his blood glucose through your phone because Dexcom comes with an app that allows you to do that. So it’s overall a great device. My sister has had Dexcom for a few months now so if you ever have a question you can reach out to me anytime. My best wishes for you.
