Happy Dance

Happy Dance. Happy Dance. Hands in the air and wave them everywhere.

We went for our check up today with the endo and Chasey's A1C level was 7.3

We are thrilled. It was lots of hard work and it has paid off. We were up to 9 or there about this time last year. At our last visit two months ago we were 8.4 and now we are down even more. I am so proud of Chasey.

She grew another cm and lost 1/2 pound. She is getting so big and learning more and more how to help care for herself. She even is starting to guess how many carbs things are worth.

All in all I could ask for a better pre Christmas check up.

That's great news. Keep up the good work : )

Congratulations!!!!

Yeah!  It's nice to see the hard work pay off.  Congrats!

nice job :o) glad to hear things are going well.

Jen that is sooooooo awesome! That definitely deserves a happy dance! Dancing over here in NY!!

That's so great!!  Please tell me what you did to reduce it by such a significant amount.  What did you change??  Your last A1C was only 3 or 4 months ago? Sadly I didn't do the happy dance at our last clinic visit on Monday.  Brookie's last A1C was 8.5 and I was hoping for a huge change.  Nope, 8.3 :-(  I actually cried!  It was so sad.. then Brookie cried because I was crying!  Anyway, not to take away from your post.  Congratulations Mom!  Job well done!  Chasey too of course :-)

OK Jen,  maybe it's "that time of the month" but I got a little teary eyed at your post. That's so amazing -- you all must feel so proud of your family's hard work!

That is a great reason for a Happy Dance. Here I goooooooo!!!! Happy dance yeah!!!!! Great job keep up the good work.

Congratulations! :)

Awww.. that's great congrats to you and Chasey!!!

We worked really hard on reminding Chasey that every time that something went into her mouth we needed to bolus. We also started drinking more water and added in some night time checks that we didn't normally do. Also the last couple of months Chasey has been in swim lessons and I think the regular exercised help. I'm not a doctor and I'm sure that half of what we were and are doing have nothing to do with helping to lower her level but something is working for us so good enough for me. Our endo said she's happy with a child's A1C level being around 8 so the 7.3 was just icing on the cake. There was high fives all around in her office.

Any one else have something they want to share for helping to lower or maintain an A1C level?

That is great news!  Keep up the good work.

Hamster happy dance! LOL
