Fingers crossed

So after all the hard work the past month dealing with the fertility doctors, fertility medications/injections, tons of ultrasounds, lots of pain (more so then most times), 5 months worth of firtility treatment with this month being my first IUI, I have an appointment at 8am tomorrow morning to have blood drawn to see if I'm pregnant! Hopefully I'll get the results back sometime tomorrow as I know I'll be staring at my phone all day. We've been trying a year and a half, but I really don't want to get my hopes up yet again.  This has been the hardest month so far, and I feel I'll be completely heart broken if I find out i'm not pregnant... But with all that said, I'm just going to hope for the best and try not to stress to much..

On another note, how is everyone else doing!? I know a few of you are doing Clomid this month...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you as well!

Chelsea,

Hoping and praying for you!!

Gina,

Thank you!! I'm STILL waiting for the phone call -lol-

I took a urin pregnancy test this morning before my dr appointment and I had a faint line..Oh my gosh I was so excited. Around 10am I couldn't stand waiting so I went and bought a digital test...The instructions on the digital said to wait 3 minutes for results, and within 30 seconds the results already were flashing on the scream: "Pregnant" Holy cow, I lost it -lol-

So as of right now I feel the odds are in my favor that the blood work will come back showing I'm pregnant since I've had two positive test today...I think it'll be reality for sure once I get that phone call

Chelsea,

I saw your message on the other board, but since we're sisters in the infertility side, I wanted to congratulate you here!  I know it's early but conception is the first step right?  I'm so happy for you and you give me hope...

I hope this is not too personal of a question, but in the event that Clomid doesn't work for me, I would imagine the IUI is next.  Did your insurance cover that?  What kind of $$ does that run?  I'm sorry if that is way too personal, don't answer if it's weird, I'm just planning and projecting I guess....

Enjoy this time for you and your husband and keep us posted from the other side =)

Laura

Chelsea!!!!!

I will wait. :)

Laura,

Thank you!! And no don't worry about your question..Its not to personal for me! The first step is to find out if your insurance actually covers infertility treatment and drugs.  From what I've heard, alot dont. I have my primary insurance (which doesn't cover ANYTHING for infertility) and I'm also on my husbands insurance (and my secondary DOES cover-yay!).

So my secondary insurance pays 50% of treatment after the deductable has been met with a lifetime max. of $10,000.  I have learned quickly that money can easily be put to use!

For the IUI with my medications we paid about $1300 out of pocket. We may get a little back, but I'm not sure yet.

Does your insurance cover anything?  If they don't, check with the speciality pharmacy for discount programs for cash pay costumers. That can save a bundle!!

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Chelsea/Laura,

Question for you Chelsea, $1300 pays for all the meds and the procedure? When I spoke with my OB about IUI he said for the procedure it is about $100 in his office and about $100 at the lab for the sperm wash. But we haven't gotten into any other costs. I found out our insurance doesn't cover anything labeled "infertility". Jacked. I didn't ask for us to have fertility issues, but whatever, there isn't anything we can do about it. Thank goodness we will be getting our tax return around the time we will more than likely have to do IUI so we will have enough to pay for it. I'm kind of afraid to ask how much the total costs are. I was bitchin' about spending $40 on a ovulation test, but gave up that fight this month to see if it would save us the costs of IUI. :(

Congrats on the positive pregnancy test Chelsea! I can't wait until I can make that annoucement.

Chelsea, how faint was your faint line?? I am 6 days away from expecting my period and got a super super faint line, i took a picture and googled other peoples tests but i dont want to get my hopes up :frowning:

Cassie

Cassie when I became pregnant my line was so faint you could hardly see it! But I took enough tests to know at that time it was definitely a positive. Everyday it gets darker than the next! If you see it, it probably is a positive. I am on my phone but I did take a pic of my test the first time. When I get back to my computer I will post what it looked like.

Gina, i have a picture on my phone of mine to compare…its sooooo faint…Tyler sees something but maybe hes just saying yes to appease me lol

Gina i am getting impatient and nervous :frowning:

My line was super faint also! But I've taken so many over the last 18 months that I just knew...And from things I've read, even if its faint, you have to have some HcG in your system in order to get that line...So things look to be in your favor....Do what I did...Go get yourself a digital test that says "Pregnant or Not Pregnant"...There's no questioning that test lol

Good luck!!

Your pictures have caused my husband and I to make a bet as we disagree on what your results show…If you take a digital test their only 51 percent accurate (at least the one I used- Clearblue digital) 4 days before your period. Get a 4 pack and test tomorrow morning. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!!

lol nicki, thats too funny...i bought 4 different kinds at wegmans the other night and have been to afraid to try the digital and it blink NOT PREGNANT....the lab opens at 7am, i am gonna head over there asap, and I am working a 24 hr shift right now, so I plan to pee after holding it all night bright and early at 6am and i ll try a few different tests.... STRESSED....

OMGGGGGGGG

I for sure can see the faint line from 2/4... Are you going to take another one of those today? Or do the digital!? Use your first morning urine also!! I'm excited for you!!

Congratulations!!!
