Finally, after 18 months of trying, I’M PREGNANT! The day is finally here, and I am completely overjoyed! It’s funny, actually, that I share this news on here with all of you because we don’t even know each other, but I feel like this is one of the safest places to go for advice and support. My hubby knows, but my parents don’t yet. I’m saving it for Father’s Day on Sunday. It’ll be awesome!
So far, I haven’t noticed any changes in my blood sugars, but I know that’ll come soon. Also no nausea yet. Just slightly swollen boobs, mild cramping, and sore gums. It’s all good though. I’ll take any symptom there is if it means creating a life!
I’m going to see a high risk OB/GYN next Tuesday (the 17th) for a pelvic exam to confirm how far along I am and to try to hear the heartbeat (although they said it might not be possible yet), and I go to my endocrinologist for my A1C in four weeks from now. I am super excited to get these appointments rolling! I am actually considering the pregnancy program at Integrated Diabetes Services to help with my control. Have any of you used Gary and his staff during your pregnancies?
Congratulations and good luck! I’m sure it will be a great Father’s Day surprise for your family. Get your dad a card that says “Happy Father’s Day Grandpa” and just let him open it–just a suggestion!
YAY!!! So completely exctied for you! What a great present for your father’s!
I didn’t really experience any pregnancy symptoms till week 8 and 9. Then the nausea lasted till week 19. They had to put me on zofran because I couldn’t stop vomiting. It was like a miracle drug!!
Be sure to eat well, hydrate and keep an exercise routine going and you should feel great most of the time.
Gary Scheiner is fantastic and can definitely help, it could be a bit costly though because I don’t think he is covered through insurance.
@KSmerk12 Thank you! That is exactly what I am going to do for my dad! I’d like to think of something to do for my mom at the same time though so she can have a surprise too. Hmmm. I’ll figure something out!
@Gina Thanks girl! I’m sure I’ll regret these words at some point, but I almost hope some symptoms start so that I know things are growing and ok in there. I’m sure I’ll start to feel something soon. I got a price quote from IDS and I’m not sure that we’ll be able to swing that amount, especially now that we have to save for our baby. I’m going to start downloading my Dexcom information onto a computer (haven’t in the past because we only have a Mac) and do as much self-adjusting as I can. I plan on continuing Crossfit, bicycling (for a little while), walking, maybe some running, and starting a regular prenatal yoga routine. I’m so thankful for you ladies on this site!
Keep exercising! It will be good for you. Just be sure to talk to your doctor about it first. I am so happy for you and can’t wait to hear all of the details, and hope everything goes amazingly boring for you! xoxoxo
