Dissertation Research Update

First of all, I wanted to thank all of you who volunteered for my dissertation research. I really couldn’t have done it without you!

I wanted to update you and let you know I defended. Now I can share some of my cool findings!

— My sample was about 85% Type 1 folks. This was pretty cool and unexpected!

—When compared to a sample of U.S. adults who considered themselves healthy, there was no significant difference in relationships satisfaction among my sample and the comparison sample!

---- Participants with diabetes who reported sharing more information about their diagnosis with their partner also reported higher relationship satisfaction.

Those are the highlights. I am happy to answer any questions as well!

Thank you Brandi @Broelk for sharing your findings, also, welcome back and a grate BIG Congratulations for having defended.

In some ways, I wasn’t “shocked” by your findings expressed in what you shared - this may demonstrate that there is something positive about communication.
Out of curiosity, what was the “n”, the size of your study?

142 was the sample size of those with diabetes. Additionally I collected data from the partners of those with diabetes n=37.
