LOL! Feel free to claim me as your recruit, if it gets you closer to that toaster oven! ;)
This is really a very exciting thing for me... I've considered going back to school for this for a very long time, but all the time it would take to get science prereqs before even starting the program I want made me hesitate... Then I got diagnosed with diabetes and have been really into the nutritional stuff, and my counselor (who I originally started seeing for help dealing with my diagnosis) addressed that hesitation with, "You said it'll take you 3 or 4 years to finish, right? So if you spend 4 full years doing this, you'll be about 35 when you're done. And if you don't do this... you'll still be 35 in 4 years, but no closer to the career you seem to want." And suddenly, the fact that it'll take three or four years just didn't seem to matter as much!
That's what I love about counseling: getting a different perspective.
way to go, elizabeth :o) it took me 3 years + summers to finish the degree, then 6 months for the internship. a total of 4 years, but well worth it. every day in my nutrition classes i had an "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!" moment :o) it was pretty cool.
