Hi!
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good carb counting app. I would like to have one but i don’t know which one to get. Thanks!
I used to use MySugr to track BG readings, insulin does, carbs consumed, exercise etc. It’s really just a fancy logbook app made specifically for diabetes–not sure if that’s what you’re looking for.
Hi @EmmaG,
Here are to Carb Counter site that I find are good - by ‘good’, I mean accurate. These sites are labeled as calorie counters but unlike other sites give serving size carbohydrates. Be careful on the MyFitnessPal site as some individual foods values are based on home recipes. The calorie King site has individual foods and restaurant foods.
Thanks
We use FatSecret because it can push data into HealthKit on the iphone, which is then picked up immediately by the predictbgl dose calculation app we use. Because it includes carbs, protein, fat and fibre without any extra work by us, it makes the dose calculations more accurate, and predictions more accurate.
I use My Fitness Pal and it’s pretty good, but like the post above said, be careful on some things. Use your judgment based on what you know some of the more basic foods to be.
I am using MyNetDiary Diabetes Tracker. It allows me to log/track Blood Glucose Readings, Insulin Injections, Meals (it has a QR reader that will scan the products that you want to input for this. If the product does not exist in their database, they will let you send a screenshot of the nutritional label and product so that they can input it), Exercise, Medications, and more. It also has a nice tool to analyze how you have been doing and provide feedback. Hope that helps!
