Being able to donate blood

Hey guys!! So tomorrow my high school is doing a blood bank. I was told that as long as I have a decent number I can donate tomorrow-is that true? Also any suggestions on how I should prepare for donating blood tomorrow? Meaning what I should do leading up to my scheduled time to donate. any suggestions?

thanks!!

Assuming DE stands for Delmar. here are the requirements:

Make sure you get lots of fluids beforehand so you're hydrated! I haven't given blood myself, but I have many friends who have done it for our blood drive, and they always make sure to drink lots of water the day and morning before. The people I've known who have had problems afterward (dizziness/lightheaded) weren't hydrated enough.

I had always thought up until a couple of weeks ago when someone started a discussion about giving blood that I wasn't able to because of my diabetes. I might consider it this year, though.

I always thought that because we were diabetic we couldn't ever give blood.

depends on where you are. in canada you can't give blood if you use insulin(so nno T1s but some T2s can)
