Am I pregnant?

Okay, I know I may be jumping the gun a bit; I am only 2 days late, and this is only my second cycle after stopping the pill. At the same time, I am terrified of the possibility that I may be pregnant. Not because a little bundle of joy would not be welcome, but because while pregnancy is something we've been shooting for, I haven't been able to get my A1C to the desirable range. My last was 7.1, and that was down from December's 8.4! Anyway, if I am pregnant, my range would have been in the low 7s at conception. And that scares me.

To complicate things further, I have been to a couple of parties recently where I had a few drinks. Eek!

I do NOT want to bring a less than healthy child into this world; that much I know. I guess I'd like to hear from anyone who had a similar experience, maybe someone who got pregnant by surprise with a less than perfect A1C.

Help!

Take a pregnancy test. If you are pregnant, you still have about 37 weeks to maintain good control. There are lots of women on here who have had successful pregnancies.

Good luck and let us know if congratulations are in order. :o)

Hope all is well! If you are, there is another website called TuDiabetes.org and you can join the group for pregnant T1s if you want.Oh, and let us know how the test goes!

Take a test asap

Phew! False alarm. Thank you all for your advice and concerns. I will definitely let you know when the real thing comes along. Meanwhile, this little scare has made me realize I need to be a lot more careful. So I will. thanks again!
