My pump will be here by Monday!!!! I only have to pay $820 out of pocket!
Congratulations! That's exciting. I just got mine in the mail this week. I have to wait til wed to get in to the doctor to get it all setup though.

Yay that's so exciting!!!! Did you get an Animas??
I'm getting a ping
That is really exciting for both of you. The first few days may seem a bit odd and confsuing, but give it time. It is a little strange realizing that there is something else that you need to conscious of when you are getting changed and stuff like that, but after a week it will seem normal. Not to mention that not doing shots will seem strange as well, but the comfort is so nice and i really tend not to think about my pump until I need it for bolus and such.
Good luck and any questions feel free to ask.
It's weird because I've watched my dad with his pump for years and now I'll be doing it myself.
hey congrats! I am in the process right now of getting a ping!! let me know how the first few days go for you and good luck =)
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Congrats ladies!!! Welcome to the club!
Okay, so I know that I am a very, VERY emotional person, but seriously... I have tears in my eyes just thinking about how happy you must be!
Thanks everybody!!!!!
Going today for my training!!!!!
Wooooooo is right!!! Congratulations! If you're anything like I was, for the first few days you'll treat your pump like it is the most fragile thing you have ever handled, like a newborn baby... It doesn't take long before you're just throwing it around like a baseball, though... ok, slight exaggeration, but you get the idea!
hey courtney! let me know how you like the ping. i am stuck between that one and the omnipod. i have no idea which pump i want to go with. so let me know how it goes. =]
im so happy for you [: i remember how excited i was when my pump came in, and how mad i was when it came a day late! haha
Training will be fun... Well maybe not fun but once it is done you will be so happy. Let us know how it all goes.
I know EXACTLY how you feel!
I just started on the Omni-Pod about a month ago and I literally feel like I have been let out of PRISON!
This is my first pump and going from 5-7 shots a day to one insertion every 3 days is so fantastic!
You will be even more excited after you start using it!
Good for you!
I have salin in the pump right now so Monday I go back again to prove to them that I can do it on my own. Which I pretty much knew more than the woman teaching me did. So Monday I will actually be using insulin in the pump and the week after that I go to see my endo. again.
I love the ping! It is so easy, I never have to take the pump off my hip to actually deliver any insulin it is GREAT!
I'm glad you are liking it so far!! what color did you get??
OOO. That's so exciting.
Tell me how you like it. I'm getting a Ping sooon.
what color did you get??
It's funny to me that you brought up the question of colour... As a non fashion-conscious 40 year old, when I started pumping last year with the Animas 2020, I just chose plain old black. When an eleven year old T1D found out that I had just gotten my pump, that was her very first question too! When I didn't reply that it was pink, she seemed all disappointed! LOL
