Why so negative?

Hello all! I am new to the forum. My daughter was recently diagnosed on New Years Eve. We are very fortunate that she already has a friend with TD1 and has met many people with it since. I realize she is still honeymooning however everything I’ve read and seen, it doesn’t seem that hard. Maybe I’m just want to stay positive for my daughter but doing my research, she can do and be anything she wants to be. This doesn’t have to hinder her life. I feel there are far worse health conditions. At least we can manage this! :slightly_smiling_face:

Welcome. It’s good to stay positive. But, we need good advocacy so we all continue to have access to our life saving insulin and supplies. Keep up the good attitude and be prepared to help fight for continuing good care for your daughter. All the best

Welcome! I think that staying positive is key, doesn’t mean the road will be easy or without any bumps BUT remaining positive can make all the difference in the world, not just for your little one but for you and her loved ones too. I agree with @sneathbupp we must advocate and speak up, use our voices so that together we can continue to support our T1D community for many years to come!

I totally agree! It becomes what you make of it right. You and your daughter are going to be fine if you keep up with that great attitude. Always good to advocate, but it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a healthy outlook. I just skim past the posts that are hyper negative and/or whiny… take care. XOXOX
