Im getting a insulin pump relatively soon and out of the million out there, I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

Congrats! I am a new insulin pumper as well! I googled insulin pump comparisons and researched a few websites of pumps that are available. I was fortunate enough to be able to wear an older version of the Minimed paradigm 515 pump and was also sent a "demo" pod by Omni-pod
So important info to consider...... Make sure that whatever pump you choose is able to tell how much insulin you have already in your system, I know when looking at several pumps, I decided on either the minimed pump or the omnipod..... The reason why I chose the Minimed was becuase it accounts for how much insulin I already have, which the omnipod doesn't, which could mean additional lows and that was somethign I did not want to chance!
Also, find out what you insurance will cover, as well as what teh warranty is...... Luckily, my health insuarnce covered my pump and supplies 100%..... I have a warranty for 4 years, however if a newer pump becomes avaialble, I can pay a minimal out of pocket expense to upgrade!

The Omnipod does account for IOB and it allows you to enter the amount of time you want it to use for insulin action. I think the MM does a better job of display and indication but the feature is there on my Omnipod, too...

I am also thinking about getting a pump and tonight I went to "pump night" at my endocrinologist's office. I am highly considering the OneTouch "ping". I have never been on a pump before (seeing as I was only diagnosed a little over 5 months ago), but the nurses at the office highly recommended this particular one. She even has her 4 year old granddaughter wearing it, so I know she trusts it! :D Hope I helped.
I love my minimed 722 and it is compatible with the continuous blood glucose monitor if you're interested in that. I don't have that yet, but I want it someday.
