Issues with Medtronic CGMs

Am I the only one who wonders whether Medtronic is having serious manufacturing problems with their CGMs and are trying to deny that they are having these issues? And instead Medtronic is suggesting that the problem is a user issue? Anyone having a CGM randomly giving weak-signals then going into warm-up mode?

I have used the Medtronic CGM for years, since 2006 actually, and have not had a problem. I sometimes have the sensors last two weeks. There are days that are not accurate but I then go to the pump and hit "link to new sensor" put in the right calibration, and all is well again. Their enlite sensors will be more accurate because they are easier to insert. Unfortunately they won't be released until summer 2014.

I've had similar issues, Hilary. I put in a new sensor tonight, waited for it to tell me it was ok to take my blood glucose, and it kept alternating between a "weak signal" and "lost sensor" signal, every few minutes. Which meant I had to alternate between "finding lost sensor" and "link to new sensor" every few minutes. It finally told me to take my BG reading, but I'm still getting some "weak signal" readings. I've only had my CGM for about 10 months, but so far it hasn't turned me into a convert, considering the rewards to "pain in the ass" ratio.

Okay, for those of you using the Enlite I am on my 4th week and 2 of those weeks I have had bad readings from my Enlite sensors. One only lasted 4 days and when i called in I was told it was “pinging” meaning the insertion site was probably not taped down enough and the cannula was coming out and not reading correctly. The other time I injected in and held against my skin for 10 seconds, but when I released it the entire set got caught in the delivery device and I could not use it. I touch the tape and it was NOT sticky.

You have to calibrate 3-4 times a day – more then the other sensor. Only within normal range.

So far, I give it a 3 out of 5. Maybe I need a little more fine tuning.

They did send me 3 replacement Enlites.

@ScottT That sounds annoying but, I’d definitely give it more fine tuning. Good Luck!

I also use the Enlite system. Usually the first day it is all over the place, but by the second day, I am within a point or two of my actual readings. Since I go low without knowing it, it is a real help

I have the enlite and I have had a problem recently with the tape getting unstuck and the cannula coming out too
