Pumpers.org is a great organization. Give them a holler!
I get my saline start tomorrow and I will keep everyone updated!
So I got my insulin started December 17, and the silhouettes have been terrible with me. I have been bleeding, kinked cannula, bruises. What other infusion sets work with 530g?
I just switched to a different length of the silhouettes. I used to use 17mm, now I use 13mm.
what infusion sets are you using with your Medtronic?
Thanks for sharing!I found some more information on this website about this great device : http://www.medicalexpo.com/medical-manufacturer/infusion-pump-11623.html
Thanks @ingedata ! Exactly what are infusion pumps? And as an update since January, I have gotten my enlite sensor in January (LATE) and I haven’t had ANY problems at all! Ever since I have switched to a shorter cannula I have only had 1 kink which happened during soccer because I had fallen on my site. My pump has been amazing. It has lead my blood sugars in range most of the time because it knows when to give corrections, when for me to treat lows, etc. I will be going to diabetes camp in July. To be specific July 20th in Bethel PA. It is called Camp Setebaid.
hi @DjLandschoot I just saw your question, “infusion pumps” are a general or generic description for your insulin pump, but covers pretty much anything that delivers a liquid under your skin or into a vein. Insulin pumps are just a very small and specific market of infusion pumps.
"Infusion pumps may be capable of delivering fluids in large or small amounts, and may be used to deliver nutrients or medications – such as insulin or other hormones, antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, and pain relievers. "
cheers
Oh okay. Thanks @Joe ! I just realized my Aunt has one because she needs chemotherapy drugs.
