I agree! I keep fruit snacks, granola bars AND glucose (yuck!!) tabs all in my purse. It I have to be out in the heat then I usually take the glucose tabs and fruit snacks with me. If I keep candy within reach I’ll eat it low or not!

So wait, this Purse thing that you are talking about Mo' if I put that in my car with my gummy worms in it, would they not melt?? Being a guy I am confused, these magical purse things keep stuff cool too?? :-p
So, yeah, Brian, as other ladies have pointed out, the "Magic of The Purse" lies in the fact that we are PERMANENTLY ATTACHED to it, and have been trained to "never leave home without it". ESPECIALLY those of us who have had children, and have become accustomed to lugging miscelleous kid-related items around with us, including diapers, wipes, snacks, and Emergency Identification Information Sheets (believe me, you wouldn't believe the number of times a parent may need to run around a very crowded public place with a picture of their child saying "have you seen this kid? have you seen this kid? have you seen this kid?"...the last time being last week when our T1 son with CAPD wandered off to take in the Jim Henson display while the rest of our group dutifully went downstairs to see the puppet show). And, add onto that the fact I was raised as a Military Brat, trained that NEVER under ANY circumstances should I leave the house WITHOUT my Military Dependent ID. Well, I'm a little attached to my purse....and now, our son's cami pack with all T1 supplies :)
Now, just in case the guys out there are a little intimidated by the "purse" thing, I have known a man who actually carried what he called his "man purse" EVERYWHERE, ALL OF THE TIME. Being a building contractor, it proved to be a VERY effective tool to manage his business. Yes, he was frequently accused of being "too European", but, heck, if we're talking about your health, why not lean toward the much healthier European set? Too bad fanny packs are not longer stylish, 'cause they solved a LOT of challenges :(
And, BTW, Skittles will melt in the car, especially if you're living' in GA. Just as my hubby's stash of Jelly Belly's melted in the garage. They're still edible, though. I tested them :)

Sense guys pants seem to have large pockets you could get a small kind of candy and always have it in your pocket. Or, just get candy that doesnt melt.
Can I just point out the number of times I've unintentionally washed items that were stuck in my "guys" (that'd be a 4-count) pants pockets (those wonderful cargo pants with inumerable pockets being the WORST)? Including an iPod (twice), candies, LEGO's, rocks, bolts & washers, small tools, feathers, deceased bugs, magnets, board game pieces, small stuffed animals, credit card receipts, and (best of all, 'cause the laundress gets to keep it...) money (both change and bills)? Are there any guys out there who 1) do their own laundry and 2) check their pockets before washing a load? 'Cause, ya know, those candies melt just as famously in the dryer as they do in a hot car. Just try old-fashioned salt toffee sometime :0
OMG! WHERE are you that fanny packs are tolerated, much less adored? Or, am I REALLY so far behind?!? Guess that'll teach me to rely on Weird Al instead of ET for current events....
What I watch when I need a GUARANTEED belly-laugh...watch for the gold-lame fanny pack...

The J. Peterman Catalog offers a european carry all that would be ideal for your situation.
Exactly what I was thinking! But, make sure to carry it everywhere or you won't have anything when you get low!
P.S., what about a cool fanny pack like middle age women (no offense everyone -- I'm not that young anymore!) wear at Disney World?
If I wore a fanny pack I would have to make fun of myself... My dad still uses his from time to time on vacation and I mock him endlessly about it. I am such a loving sun.
These magic purse things that you guys have seem more like an addiction than anything else. I mean I only have a wallet and survive most of the time. Granted, I also don't have kids or need emergency forms. I put my cell phone in my pocket and keys as well. I don't believe in checkbooks and last time I checked I did not wear makeup or have any concerns about how my hair looked.
And no to the man purse as well. I flash back to the friends episode where Joey had one and was mocked for it. I do use a sport sack from time to time, but I don't always bring it with me where I go and if I leave it in the car, we are back to the original problem.

Do any of you ladies keep an emergency glucagon kit in your purse? I have for quite awhile now because I figure that that my purse is the only thing that is with me wherever I go.
Yup, one's always in my purse!
I blame D and DS for such a heavy purse! (jelly beans for lows -- my favorite! -- testing supplies & insulin, glucagon kit, diapers, wipes, phone, snack for toddler or self, sippy cup of water, wallet ... as you can see by now, a cute small purse is out of the question!)
I have a fanny pack and really couldn't care less what other people think about it. I carry my tester and insulin, syringes, snacks in it. I take it with me anywhere I'm going to be gone for a while. I don't want to leave it in the car becuase of weather and also I could be in a world of hurt if my car got stolen or I got low and couldn't remember where I parked it or something.

Mo.... The whole laundry thing made me have to share this story. My daughter was coming in from playing one evening when she was 5 or 6, just as I was starting a load of laundry. I told her to strip and give me her clothes, since she was getting ready to shower for the day. She did, and I just dumped the shorts and the shirt in the washer. When the wash finished, I put everything in the dryer. Well, I guess that was to much for the FROG she had in her pocket. When I pulled the laundry out, the dead frog flopped out at my feet! I can say I have now put it all through the washer and dryer. Needless to say, that load got rewashed...... Plus, I now make sure I check all pockets. (Isn't it great being a Mom? And yes, the laundress keeps all the money here, too! I use it for Christmas money).
Here is a tip from someone who has worked for a major appliance manufacturer for a long time (meaning myself)... when candy goes thru the dryer, get a plastic putty scraper (I keep one on my detergent shelf) and put a couple ice cubes in a baggie. Hold the ice cubes on the candy for a minute (turn the dryer drum so the area is at the bottom and let the baggie sit on the area) and then use the plastic scraper to chip off the candy. Works like a charm every time!
Mo,
If it makes you feel better, I wear cargoes and wash my own laundry. I learned in High School started in college and am content doing my own laundry. My mom offers from time to time, but I am just used to doing it myself now. At the Parish I am assigned to right now I actually told the housekeeper she can take my sheets and towels, but I will take care of my clothes. There is something about other people touching my clothes that I do not like. Not to mention the housekeeper does not need to see my collection of penguin boxer shorts. :-p
On a different laundry related story, my brother was home one weekend a few years back and doing his laundry. When one load finished he went to take it out and his clothes had red spots in them. So my mom trying to be helpful figured it was a pen or something in his pocket. A few minutes of digging later my mom found what caused the color change screamed, threw the item across the room, and ran away. I fell over laughing and my brother would not stop blushing for the rest of the day as the item she found was a once red condom.
Thanks, guys, for the laundry stories. Totally made me laugh!
You could use a drawstring bag. I know lots of guys who carry them around, and they aren't very big or noticable. It'd be large enough to carry all of your supplies and stuff, but isn't too man purse-y.
