I got my pump in the mail!

i received my pump in the mail today :) i enjoy getting packages even more now! lol

I called my doctor so I'm praying I can start training ASAP!

i just wanted to share my exciting news lol

That's great news Melissa!  Congratulations!  The memory of that thrilling exciting feeling is still very fresh in my mind as I received my pump just this past November, after taking injections for 35 years!  I was surprised that I was able to get training on it very quickly and started using it about three weeks later, in early December!  I hope things go quickly for you also.  You're going to love it, I'm sure!

Congrats Melissa! I am so happy for you. I remember the countdown we had for our pump arrival. It was to be delivered on Ethans 7th birthday. It came in the afternoon. He was jumping up and down yelling my pump, my pump! Very exciting. I agree with Nads.  I believe you are going to love it! Which pump did you go with? I see some people name theirs, Are you going to name yours?

I chose the MM Paradigm 522.

Haven't decided about the naming yet...

 

but I will have my training on Feb. 9th!

If you can get your hands on a copy of the book "Smart Pumping for people with diabetes", published by the American Diabetes Association, do it!  I found it to be very informative, answering some of those questions that I may never have asked...  And now is the time to read it, to prepare yourself for what could seem like "the great unknown"!

You'll have so much fun with it :) and learn as much about it as you can, you know that everyone here is there to help you along too.

As a college student I absolutely love getting any mail.  But the day my pump arrived was by far the best day mail-wise EVER!  Keep us updated on how it goes!  :)

oh for sure I LOVE getting mail! The gal at the front desk of my dorm probably thought I was insane because she pulled out the box it said Medtronic on the side and i screeched because I knew it was my pump!! I ran up the 3 flights of stairs and stopped in to tell my friend "I GOT MY PUMP" and then i went to my room and opened it lol

i was overly excited

but now i am sitting here doing homework when I would rather be reading about how to use the pump lol
