I was always using goggle to find information and sites on d info.I know Juvenation was here a few months before I signed up to become a member.I must have seen it and thought it was for teens till I saw parents here-not sure...Once you found Juvenation, how long before you became a member ? If you are a guest out there and have not become a member-why not ?? I want my teen on here and have tried all kinds of tricks. She does not know I am here-not telling her,HA :) If she would join,I would lay very low and talk mostly on my members page to my sweet friends here :) She would not feel so alone with d I told her yesterday if she would only give Juvenation a try.I told her there are wonderful teens and young adults here that have type1.She could talk to them and they get it-they live it.I know now that she needs to connect more than ever with others. But how ? I am open to any suggestions :)
Kids love technology, I hate to say the word "bribe", but if that new Iphone of laptop was part of a deal to get her to a site that would make her feel better about herself than it is worth every penny. Just a thought, but go for the weakness....new technology. The next thing for kids is usually humor. Everyone has a stupid diabetes story to tell and maybe she would find that entertaining taking the seriousness out of it for once and having a good laugh at our issues seems worth a try for some. I believe there is a topic on the homepage for that. good luck
I signed up the minute I found the site online.
My endocrinologist suggested I join so I could network with other T1's and gain/give insight as far as how to take care of oneself.
That was about a year ago. Still here!
I think I saw a reference to it in an email from JDRF Charlotte I believe, thought it was neat and joined as soon as I saw it. Seemed pretty cool and has been a letdown. Jussssssst kidding. I've really enjoyed my experience so far and hope to keep it up!
I saw the link for Juvenation back in October when I was at the JDRF homepage to register for the walk. I joined right away.
If you know your daughter's email address maybe you can find a post that would interest her and email it to her. She'll read it before she knows what it is. :)
i found out about juvenation during a job interview at JDRF back in June but i didnt join till like september or october.. I just kind of forgot about it and then it popped in my head one day, im so glad i did!
The link was emailed to me but I didn't join right away. I was cleaning out my inbox and remembered the email from a couple months prior and came here and signed up. I think that was in June and I've been posting my three cents ever since.
i joined dec 08, but never got on the site (mom mentioned it... got on so she'd stop yakking about it). actually, i completely forgot about it until june 09. i've pretty much been on ever since :O)

i joined after looking around the jdrf website
I was asked to be apart of the pilot group... therefore I joined prior to the launch date (November 14th, 2008).
I'm still here! However, I wish I had more time to be involved
I become a member after watching that this is a forum for diabetes =)
And of the beautiful ladies too ;)
Signed up right away right after Riley was dxed.
Sit down with her and show her the sight. If she wants nothing to do with it still so be it. You cant push but you can let her see its a great place to be.
