I keep reading all these posts from people that are so annoyed when people ask about their diabetes, or assume their sugar is low. Nobody ever asks me about it! Nobody ever aknowleges that fact that I deal with this every second of every day. Nobody cares or offers help when I am shaking and franticallly searching for sugar. Nobody gives me a minute after a low, they just keep going on like nothing happened and expect me to be normal. I guess it is my fault because I have always tried to play it off like it's no big deal. But it is! It is a HUGE DEAL!!!! ...............but only when I want it to be. SOOOOOOO frusterating!!!!
Gah I know where you're coming from on that one. I'm just generally unsatisfied with the lack of knowledge most have regarding diabetes. Yes, I may have had diabetes for 15 years, but that doesn't mean I don't need a quick breather for a low blood sugar! What you may want to do is educate these people you speak of as to why you need a minute for a low. Understanding will require an explanation, but after you've let them know, I'm sure they'll understand and hopefully modify their behavior. Good luck!
