hey im a person who is tall and thin too i wanted to go on the omni pod i really really did but my doctors wouldnt let me go the pump.
The reason was i was already on a pump the cozmo ugh i hated that thing anyway the tubing was always clogging and my blood sugar was a mess i was hoping i could go on a new pump and it would be better but they wouldnt let me try instead i went on a novalog pen and lantus pen. Its not exactly as simple as pushing a button but my blood sugars are alot better and you dont feel weighed down by someting all the time when i switch from pump to pen i felt free it was great i hoped that helped i wanted you to be inform before you got it there are pros and there are cons know all of them before you decide.
right now im on the lantus and novalog pen, actually! (haha) and my doctors really dont want me to go on the omnipod, either. you definately informed me a lot about some of the pros and cons, thank u!! but one of the reasons i want to go off the pens is that when im at a dance, i always have to go into the bathroom and give myself a shot, so its not that private. but thx sooooooo much 2 all u guys!! ur helping out a lot!!!
Why don't your doctors want you to go on the Omnipod? Did they give any specific reasons? I'm asking because I found out about Omnipod on my own and basically just told my doctor that's what I wanted to do. I've been very happy with it so far.
they said 'cause im so tall and skinny, i might want to think about going on a different pump, but there's a (30 or 60) (i forget) day back guarantee! i dont no why they wont let me try.
My doctors didnt want me to go on the omnipod because they felt that it may hurt to put the needle in since im skinny. They also said that i may not like it, again, because im so skinny and it may show through my clothes too much.
