FDA Approves 90 Day CGM

Today, June 21, 2018, THe Federal Drug Administration [the FDA] approved for persons age 18+ the use of the Eversense 90 Day implantable Continuous Glucose Monitor. FDA Link below.

This CGM data is sent every five minutes to a phone or tablet. I do not yet know if it is compatible with any pumps; the new Tandem and Insulet pumps [but not Medtronic] supposedly have universal communications so I’m assuming that this MAY work with t-Slim and OmniPod.

@Dennis nice(er)! When I saw “implantable” I almost believed this would be fundamentally different, which it’s not, but at least 90 days is something. thanks for the post!
