All right, so I'm getting ready for my endo visit on Thursday afternoon.
I have my shopping list of issues/questions:
-CGSM and Pump trial (animas ping is the only one i'm willing to trial!)
-the stomach problems(went to my moms last night..dull stabbing pain where my appendix is..again blaah)
-my lantus doses/changing to another long acting insulin (since i've been running high lately...when i saw my family doctor last week, he seemed to remember reading my blood work A1C as being 9.2!! it hasn't been that high in over two years!..i really hope he just read it wrong or got me mixed up with someone else..seeing as when he walked into the room he went "so you were at the hospital recently?" and i went "erm...what? no? i hope not or i missed a day.." "oh! i must have gotten you mixed up with someone else" haha)
but I always forget to ask him about SOMETHING and remember later when it's too late.
Given that you guys have read me whine and moan, is there anything else you think I should ask him about?
i'm not too concerned about the swine flu, if he is, he'll bring it up. i dont get the flu shots and have only had the flu maybe two or three times my whole life..the last being grade 10 when i spent the whole two weeks i had off school for christmas on the couch...so a good 6years ago now!
ok. i was going to ask you who your endocrinologist was because you live on vancouver island, right? we could have had the same endocrinologist. i am worried about the flu because a 7 year old girl in my area died of swine flu a week ago or something and she had "underlying medical conditions". i dont know what it was but... ive already gotton swine flu so maybe im immune to it know.
Just wanted to drop this comment on you since we are talking about endo. visits, I go to my endo. on thursday morning as well. Just found it a little wierd that we seem to all have endo. visits on the same day, and i'm on the other ocean in the country.
ah right. i should take a look at that thread cuz i'm glanced over it but didn't take in any of the info(probably better that i have the info then go "so..erm..i heard it causes cancer..or something..." haha)
hey guys, I just saw my cde from the office today and mentioned the lantus thing to her and she said she doesn't believe or she doesn't think there is anything to be worried about. she said if there was soemthing wrong the office would have called anyone on it and told them to stop taking it. I don't know if an endo would feel differently about it, but thats what my cde said.

good to know!! i usually ask him about that kinda stuff cuz he hears about things before they put it in the media sometimes or before i've been able to get the actual information.

I emailed my endocronologist about this yesterday and here is his response: "The reported link between cancer and lantus is very weak and probably
of no concern. I am happy to switch to something else if you are
uncomfortable, but I have almost non-existent concerns."
