Hi Alet,it's the zoo for me around here,ha !
I design and build watches in my freetime. I purchase the materials online and cut and sew leather bands myself. It's very calming and relaxing. I enjoy the expression on peoples faces when I explain this unique hobby. I also draw and play guitar in my freetime. Perhaps you are onto something with this artistic diabetic thing. I'd like to hear more. I'll try to get pictures up sometime.
Greg-I just watched Spare Change, did you put this together? Great Job !!!

Batts I really enjoy all of your pictures, the older ones, the newer one, they are all great. I just wanted to tell you that my favorite picture on your site is the picture with the flowers that have the frame around them(below the lighthouse picture). I know it isn't a newer one but it is still my favorite. So simple, yet so beautiful. You are very talented!

Thanks HV <3 that means a lot!!
I have a new film out!
Not So Ordinary Gordy (second cut no voice over...yet) from Greg Borkman on Vimeo.
"Not So Ordinary Gordy" is a short film about a ordinary systems analyst that stumbles into a spin cycle portal while searching for a missing sock. Leaving his uneventful life behind, he escapes to the dream world that unfolds before him. Gordy has a mental disorder that causes him to jump and the jumping is his way of coping with the bitter world around him. It is a short film made in 72 hours for The National Film Challenge.
About this cut:
I went through the audio removing pops from transitions and changed a scene where the camera was out of focus and the dialogue was not perfect, that scene now makes more sense with the current cut.
Future final cut:
In the final cut, the film will be seamless with video and audio trimmed to perfection and a narration written by John Roberts will be added to enhance the story line and solidify what we want the film's message to be.
Wow, so I've never seen this posting before, but then again, I've been off of this site for some time and have just got back into it (due to work related scheduling). Anyway, I think that emotions have a lot to do with it. We tend to be more emotional, I suppose (could just be me though) from the ups and downs of sugar levels as well as dealing with the managament of the disease...Emotions can motivate inspirations. I also think that Art and Creativity is all relative and comes in a diversity of forms whether we believe it or not. The way we write, cook, draw, craft, speak, dance, dress, etc....they're all art forms. Some may be excellerated and more noticeable than others. It's all a matter of opinion anyway. But, whenever there's passion in it, whether you're pouring your heart out, bursting at the seams with joy, blowing some steam out of your ears, or whatever...I believe you're creating art.
I myself am a crafter...I like to make things, A LOT of different and random things, so much I've made it my profession. Here is some of my work: www.artbydy.wordpress.com

Hi Greg, I really enjoyed your new film. I can't wait to see the final cut. I also watched the heart movie while I was there and thought it was so adorable.
Thanks, Greg! I love refurbishing furniture...especially when I find them for free on craigslist or at a really good price in a thrift store! ;o)

Hi ScrappyDy, I just wanted to tell you that i thought that was a great post. I really enjoyed your website, especially the set designs that you did. Looking through all your pictures made me feel home sick for the bay area :)
I do know that my daughter who is Type I is extremely gifted. Her artistic and athletic abilities are unreal. Her senses are also hightend. She hears and sees things that other don't. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with being Type I.

Anyone have any pretty pictures of winter ?
I like to think of myself as pretty creative...
