I think Blart from Mall Cop might be a diabetic. I'm not sure cause I haven't seen the movie in ages, but I remember at 1 point his speech got slurred, he slumped to the ground and found a dirty old piece of candy and ate it. It looked like hypoglycemia to me. LOL
This may be silly, but I just thought about it. When I was initially diagnosed I was overwhelmed by it all, so I went to the library and checked out all the books I could find on T1D. Apparently the Pink Panther has T1D. I was very excited to read about this because he was my favorite cartoon character growing up. The book showed him giving himself and insulin injection, checking his blood sugar with a glucometer, and using an insulin pump. The book also showed him in DKA, which was disturbing, and in hypo/hyperglycemia. At the time it really sucked, but for some strange reason it made me feel better.

They referenced diabetes last week on Grey's Anatomy. When the doctors told the patient he may be diabetic all he said was, "wow that sucks."

I probably said "Damn, that really blows." but that was basically me when I was diagnosed (in college:)!
I'm only 30mins into Steel Magnolias but now I totally get why my mom freaked out when i was dx (5years or so after the movie was made)..i'm already disappointed with how they portray diabetics!
In ER, the nurse Sam Taggert, her son Alex is diabetic. It was a big plot point during one of the seasons, when Alex ran away. The whole thing kind of went by the wayside in later episodes a couple of seasons later, but it was a big thing, about how she had her son so young, and that he was a T1D.

Whenever I'm running a little low and am correcting... my best friend will always say "drink your juice Shelby". Which promptly makes me spit out "DON'T TALK ABOUT ME LIKE I'M NOT HERE"... and then I laugh REALLY hard. Low induced giggle fests are always really really loud. I don't know why but it tickles me. Great movie!

I didn't have a problem with that part (though I didn't really find it funny..in the end the movie is just not something I'd usually choose to watch) it was the mom freaking out that really made me go "this movie is crap, why am i watching this?"
Wow theres actually more movie/tv shows than i thought :) i think its kinda exciting lol. the only character i knew about was the pink panther.. when i was diagnosed i got a lot of book and the pink panther was in a tonssssss of them lol
The Chevy Chase, National Lampoon's European Vacation is a great movie that had Dana Hill in it who had diabetes in real life since age 10. She died in real life in 1996 at age 32 after being in a diabetic coma and having a stroke.
Yikes! I don't like hearing that Cheryl!
