Diabetic Soundtracks

Haha! I dont know if its on here yet, but if not I'm glad I thought of it...

Pump it by The Black Eyed Peas! LOL!

Zzyzx Rd by Stone Sour:

I don't know how else to put this
It's taken me so long to do this
I'm falling asleep and I can't see straight
My muscles feel like a melee
My body's curled in a U-shape
I put on my best but I'm still afraid

Propped up by lies and promises
Saving my place as life forgets
Maybe its time I saw the world

I'm only here for a while
But patience is not my style
And I'm so tired that I gotta go

Where am I supposed to hide now?
What am I suppose to do?
Did you really think I wouldn't see this through

Tell me I should stick around for you
Tell me I could have it all
I'm still too tired to care and I gotta go

I get to go home in one week
But I leaving home in three weeks
They throw me a bone just to pick me dry

I'm following suit and directions
I crawl up inside for protection
I'm told what to do and I don't know why

I'm over existing in limbo
I'm over the myths and placebos
I don't really mind if I just fade away

I'm ready to live with my family
I'm ready to die in obscurity
Cause I'm so tired that I gotta go

Where am I supposed to hide now?
What am I suppose to do?
You still don't think I'm going see this through

Tell me I'm a part of history
Tell me I can have it all
I'm still to tired to care and I gotta go

Well, here's my contribution. Yeahh..."Lime in the Coconut." I think it's my T1 song because it illustrates the absurdity that is blood sugar maintenance. The doctor responds to the complaint..."Now lemmee get this straight...you put the lime in the coconut and..." then the doctor says for the patient to do the same thing that got him into trouble in the first place to get better.

Let's see...Moxy Fruvous..."Kick in the A--" because it seems to capture that feeling...that special emotional state I get in when talking to people for the nth time about something related to my life which they have not the first clue about.

Another one...this one has no lyrics: Prokofiev's "March of the Nights." It gives me courage, and it also gives me the giggles. It's in "Romeo and Juliet." He was dealing with large, unconquerable forces, and he had a way of being wry about it.

This is a great post. Thanks for putting it up here.

Here's another two:

Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Walkuries." It's good to listen to when I get to taking myself too seriously. It sounds a lot like what I do before I have to go to my internist and deal with that one...annoying...person...who takes his calls sometimes and thinks she's an expert on T1 but has no clue.

And Garth Brooks' "The Dance," I think it's called.

These two songs mean something completely different to me than they were intended. "Hurt" by Johnny Cash and I forget the other song..."The Sweetest..." by Depeche Mode. They seem, oddly, to speak directly about insulin injections. If you can get past the other issues which are presented in both songs...

Okay...I won't promise that I'm done posting songs...but I'll try.

I think that Childhood by Michael Jackson could be used if you really read between the lines.

Also I think that Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park.

I think Faith by Jordan Sparks can also be used.

ince im listening to music, i was thinking that these songs could be on there:

breakdown by seether

you don't know by eric dill

babysteps by drew ryan scott

we will by varsity fanclub

(i agree with whoever mentioned that nsync song, that sould also be on the soundtrack.)

the next best thing by all time low

i gotta get through this by daniel bedingfield

not okay by drew ryan scott and michaelangelo

how to deal by frankie j

well... the titles seem to fit, the lyrics dont exactly describe anything diabetes wise in a few songs.

i thought of another one!

dont fail me by calvin goldspink (=

has anyone said "promise to remember me" yet? i haven't read the entire thread. if not, DUH! that's the obvious one :o)

haha, C, no I don't think anyone has brought that up yet. But I don't think songs written for diabetes count :D (well, alright. They count.)

Well since it got bumped, I would apply the following:

The Patient-Tool

Rainbow in the Dark-Dio

The Needle Lies by Queensryche

Socio-Stone Sour

it kind of fits more than I initially thought

Here's mine really old school LOL

Argent
Hold Your Head Up

And if it's bad
Don't let it get you down, you can take it
And if it hurts
Don't let them see you cry, you can make it

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let them change a thing that you're doing

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

(Hold your head up)
Repeat x 13

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

Hold your head up, hold your head up
Hold your head up, hold your head high

And if they stare
Just let them burn their eyes on you moving
And if they shout
Don't let it change a thing that you're doing

(Hold your head up)
Repeat x 7

My pick me up diabetic song is 'Hanging on' byt Cheyenne Kimball. It's helped me through some really tough times.

I've had a bad day
And nothing ever seems to go my way
I've got a heartache
Don't wanna think about it

And everytime I try to smile, I cry, so
I'll just hide my face
Get out of my way
Don't wanna talk about it

And I'll be fine
I just need some time

[Chorus]
I'm hanging on today
And nothing's gonna stop me, anyway
I'm holding on, I'm strong
I'm the only one who can make it change
I don't wanna fight
I gotta live my life
I'm gonna make it right
I'm hanging on and nothing's gonna stop me, anyway

I went the wrong way
But I'm not lost, it's a good mistake
I saw the day break
I'm gonna shout about it

Oh, and everytime I turn around
I find that, I'm alone again
I've had a bad day
I'm gonna laugh about it

And I'll be fine
I'm gonna be all right

[Chorus]
I'm hanging on today (today, yeah)
And nothing's gonna stop me, anyway
I'm holding on, I'm strong (I'm strong)
I'm the only one who can make it change
I don't wanna fight
I gotta live my life
I'm gonna make it right
I'm hanging on and nothing's gonna stop me,
Nothing's gonna stop me

When I get lonely
I feel like I'm floating
Nothing is real
I'm above it all
I'm above it
I'm above it all

[Chorus]
I'm hanging on today
And nothing's gonna stop me, anyway
I'm holding on, I'm strong
I'm the only one who can make it change
I don't wanna fight
I gotta live my life
I'm gonna make it right
I'm hanging on and nothing's gonna stop me, anyway

I've had a bad day
