Dexcom G4 - what to do with tech no longer being used?

Hello, I have a Dexcom G4 CGM (4 sensors, a transmitter and a receiver) that I am not planning on using. What can I do with these? Is there somewhere I can donate them? Does someone want them? Thanks!

@kelseyaho, First, welcome to T1N. I have seen a few places where donations are possible. My first suggestion is to speak with the pump trainer/CDE in your endo’s office.

My first ponder is if the transmitter still has any battery left since it must be at least 4 years old.

Again welcome, I believe some others here will jump on and give wise suggestions.

If you find a solution, please share, it is how we all learn…

Hi @kelseyaho I’d also like to welcome you to TypeOneNation. Yes that transmitter is done but a motivated techie could change the battery. You can ask your endo or other support groups as well but I fear the g4 sensors are well past expiration. Still it’s a nice gesture and we will leave this open for a few days to see if any participants respond. Cheers I hope you are well.

This is a great question. I also have some stuff just sitting in my closet I’m not sure what to do with. I have 4 Dexcom G6 sensors I’d like to give to someone but have no idea who. If you find a good place to donate please let me know.
