When most of my friends found out, they said they were sorry, but none of them stopped being my friend. But now, like sometimes my friends will make jokes when I'm eating. It's like if they want some of my food they'll say stuff like," you can't eat that because it's too much sugar, and then you'll die." pleasant right.

Right! I'm assuming that's how diabetes awareness month came to be. Because one day someone got really annoyed at how uneducated people were, so they decided to give people a whole month to try and learn something about diabetes. Even though it didnt help much.
