What is it called?

I know we are on a fixed carb plan and that is about it.

So what is it called when you are on lantus and bolus with the fast acting insulin for meals?

I did find SSI sliding scale insulin which is what I think our diabetes case working is going to put us on after she gets all her numbers for this week in. From what I am reading its no good. Having a basal insulin with the bolusing for fast acting is the way to go but cant google info with out the name of it. I did google basal bolus regimen but it seems different almost like you bolus through out the day with a basal insulin but I might just be confused and reading what I read wrong.

never mind I read another one that explained it a lot more clearly and it is basal bolus insulin therapy.

MDI or multiple Daily Injections?  It does however mimics the pancreas better.  I take Lantus at night and Novolog for meals.

Cool and thanks. MDI gave me more search results with the info I wanted than what I was looking at.
