Hey guys... I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I have the HARDEST time loosing weight. I exercise on a regular basis, and I haven't gone up OR down in weight in 3 years. I also have noticed that I have a pooch right in the middle of my stomach, and I think that it is from taking insulin in my stomach. Any words of advice? Is this pooch normal? Is there any way to make it go away? Ugh, help!
Are you on the pump and if so, is that where you have it hooked up? If not and you do injections, switch around the area. Running is a good way to get rid of belly fat. Yoga works too. If you aren't shifting weight at all, chances are you have achieved your ideal weight.
I have the same problem. I was dianosed a year ago and have gained so much wait. I expected to gain back the weight i lost pre dianosis, but definitely was not ready for the rest. I eat so healthy and exersise every day. I just started the pump, which I hope will help. But nothing seems to work. HELP
I have the same issue. Part of it I think is that im stuck in the College Lifestyle. Late nights, parties, high stress, all of which can raise your blood sugar which means more insulin which means more weight gain.
I am well aware of the effects of my diet and exercise, but for me its an emotional thing. I guess I am at that point (and have been at that point) that I'm just so tired of having diabetes that I think i can eat whatever I want. Since High School, I've gained 30 lbs. and definitely need to lose it! It was a huge wake up call when my endo walked in and goes "Hi Kim, so you keep gaining weight.." Thanks doc.
Needless to say I cried that whole appointment, but he's hooking me up with a nutritionist. I've been working out at least 5 days a week (except for this week because I have bronchitis) and he has also put me on a supplement plan. I've lost 8 lbs. so far but I still have a hard time eating right without binging.
If you guys want to look up the supplements I take, go to www.haquewellness.com . My doctor is Dr. Wasim Haque (hence the website). I usually wouldn't try any supplements, but since he endorses them and sells them , I figure their safe. Right now I am on Biolean II and Satiete. They seem to be working pretty well, but it does take time.
Do you guys have any tips on what I should eat and not eat? I'm not sure when I'll be able to see the nutritionist yet, and I'd really like to get started.
Also, I have that belly fat, too. I don't run alot because my sugars drop off rapidly, but I do about 45 minutes of cardio each time I work out. I haven't seen much of a difference in my stomach yet, but I still have to lose about 25 lbs. I have heard though, that especially in women we get that bulge that is hard to get rid of because its not only the insulin but the way we metabolize.
The college lifestyle can definitely play a huge factor in weight gain and loss. I dropped about fifty pounds just over two years ago after I transferred schools. I had a very unorthodox manner to this so it might not work for everyone. As for food tips, I would cut out the fast stuff and the eating at two and three in the morning. At least for the time being. Once you are on a more structured eating schedule, knock yourself out. Obviously you would want to avoid the gratuitous amounts of consumption. Can't go wrong with the fruits and greens. Portable and they taste good.
